Tax naturally goes down on an in-game daily basis. It is not based on logged-in time.
Certain equipment and gold can be sacrificed (given) to Eje in Illium's Church to reduce your reincarnation tax as well.
For Eje to accept an item, it usually must have either +8 to atleast one basic stat, +3 to atleast one resistance, +5% to atleast one alpha type spell/skill, or +3% to atleast one bravo type spell/skill.
Gold Sacrifice Tax Reduction Formula

A: Tax after saccing item
B: Tax before saccing item
G: Gold amount
Effects
- 50,000 gold: Natural daily reduction
- 1,000,000 gold (tax>.5%): Reduces your tax by half
- 1,000,000 gold (tax<.5%): Reduces your tax by about .1%
- Item worth 0tps: 100,000 gold
- Item worth 1tp: 250,000 gold
- Item worth 2tps: 500,000 gold
- Item worth 3tps: 800,000 gold
- Item worth 5tps: 1,600,000 gold
- Item worth 7tps: 3,000,000 gold
- Item worth 10tps: 4,000,000 gold
